There is no Autonom server that receives files. Every tool is a page that runs JavaScript on your device. That is not a policy you have to trust — it is a description of the software, and it takes thirty seconds to verify.

Load any Autonom tool. Open your browser’s network inspector. Run a file through it. Zero outbound requests will contain your file’s bytes, filename, or metadata. We cannot offer a “trust us” promise here, because there is nothing to trust — the tool is a static page and the file is handled by your own browser.

We do not have a user database, so there is nothing for an attacker to exfiltrate. No email, no password, no session cookie, no billing record. Preferences are stored in your own browser and never leave your device.

You always get something usable

Where do my files actually go?
Nowhere. Your browser loads the tool, the tool runs locally in JavaScript, and the result stays on your device until you download it. There is no Autonom backend that receives your file. You can open your browser’s network inspector and confirm zero outbound requests containing file data.
Can you prove it, or do I just have to trust you?
You do not have to trust us. Open DevTools → Network tab. Drop a file into any tool. Run it. Watch the request list. You will see assets for the page load and nothing else — no POST, no PUT, no data frame carrying your file.
Is Autonom safe for confidential or regulated files?
Because your file never reaches a server, there is no data-processing relationship between us and you. That means GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA do not apply to your file — there is no personal data for us to be responsible for. Many of our users work with legal, medical, and financial documents precisely because they cannot upload those files anywhere else.
Do I need an account or an email?
No. There is no sign-up, no login, and no user database. Preferences are stored in your own browser’s local storage — not on a server. If you clear your browser data, they are gone, and that is fine.
Is Autonom free?
Every tool that is live today is free, with no usage limits and no sign-up. Later tools may offer paid exports (batch processing, larger asset packs), but the core check or fix will remain free.
What does INFO mean in a check result?
INFO means the check could not be reliably performed by a browser. For example, we can detect that a PDF contains images, but we cannot yet measure effective DPI without extracting per-image transformation matrices. Rather than falsely reporting a pass, we mark the check INFO and explain what we cannot verify.
Can I use the outputs commercially?
Yes. Files you generate with Autonom are yours. No license restriction, no attribution requirement, no watermark. Use them for client work, publishing, or anything else.
